The two newest versions of Paint Shop Pro will be released in September. This time Jasc is offering a basic “easier to use” version (Studio) along with a more advanced version (PSP9). This should open the market to new users that just want a fun photo editor, without a high learning curve.
I have been a fan of Jasc and PSP for many years. My tutorials at DisDatDesigns continue to be downloaded, even though they have not been updated since PSP7.
I use Paint Shop Pro 8 regularly, but particularly only for digital photo editing, so I am rusty on most of the newest features. Yes, I would love to take some time to just play and learn from all the current tutorial authors online, (who are so talented) but I guess my mind and heart are elsewhere. I want to learn more about blogging, CMS, and other fun web development tools.
I don’t know if I will upgrade to the newest version of PSP. It appears the changes are very subtle. But I always say I won’t upgrade, and then the temptation becomes too strong, and I have to have it!
