Digital Camera Decision Made

November 28, 2004 by debbie T | Digital Photography

Did I make a decision on which camera I will purchase? I think so, but not after agonizing all day on one more addition to the list of my choices.

The Canon G6 seemed to be a perfect mix of the features and options I desired in both the A95 and S70. It boasted a rotating LCD, Raw mode, and loads of advanced features. But the downside to excellence was the $650 pricetag. I was confronted with the dilemma that it could be too much camera right now.

I kept on researching, and finally I decided that the A95 will be the perfect camera choice for me.

Digital photography is getting better and better. In one or two years, high-end cameras will be bursting with options, features, and cheaper prices. By then, I will know if photography is a fun hobby or serious passion. Then I can decide if I should spring for a more advanced camera. The good news is I think the A95 will still be a great camera to swing over my shoulder for a hike or throw in the truck for trips to the mountains for many years to come.
